Marco Büchel
Ambassador, Alpine Skiing Expert, Keynote Speaker
Marco Büchel has been putting his heart and soul into Right To Play Switzerland as an athlete ambassador since 2008 and as an honorary member of the foundation Board since 2021. He is also a board member at "Special Olympics Liechtenstein". As co-owner of "Rotor Training", he coaches athletes on their way to the top. Marco Büchel is a former Liechtenstein ski racer. In his 20-years career, he achieved 4 World Cup victories, 18 World Cup podium finishes and won the World Cup silver medal in the giant slalom in Vail in 1999. He competed in around 300 World Cup races, took part in 10 World Championships and 6 Olympic Games.
Since his retirement from top-class sport in March 2010, Büchel has gained a foothold in the world of communication and media and gives lectures. In winter he works as a skiing expert for German television ZDF. For many years he has maintained partnerships with Audi International, HEAD International and the LGT Bank in Liechtenstein. He is a member of the FIS working group for material and safety and is a goodwill ambassador for the destination brand of Liechtenstein. He is married and lives with his wife Doris in Triesenberg.
