Help Children in the Middle East
Children in the Middle East need our support
Hundreds of thousands of children in the Middle East have been living through crisis for more than 15 months. While ceasefire announcements in Lebanon and Gaza have brought hope, the challenges remain profound. Many children continue to experience deep deprivation and lack access to clean water, food, and medicine. Their homes and schools have been destroyed, and their learning has been set back years.
As many families start to rebuild, deep uncertainty remains.
Children need our help. Your donation can help us respond.
What your support can do
Right To Play has been protecting, educating, and empowering children in the Middle East for more than 20 years. We continue to be gravely concerned about the impact of the war on children's health, well-being, and learning.
Your donation to the Children’s Emergency Fund can provide children in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon with the supplies, spaces, and support they need to cope with trauma and return to learning. .
Donations enable our trained teams to provide play-based psychosocial support sessions to children in safe spaces, and provide flexible and blended learning options that help them keep learning even when schools aren’t accessible.
Play is a uniquely powerful tool in situations of conflict and recovery, enabling children to express their emotions, rebuild trust and connection with others, forget their troubles, and hold on to hope. Your support is needed today.
Our response so far
Thanks to donor support, we’ve provided 5,000 psychosocial support kits and hygiene kits to children and their families in central Gaza. With hygiene supplies and play items like colouring books, crayons, and games, the kits are helping children cope with trauma. More than 600 children sheltering in tents received winterization kits containing pants, jackets, shoes, and thermal underwear to protect against harsh winter conditions. We have also provided assistive devices to children with disabilities. And we’ve reached children with psychosocial support sessions that give children a chance to connect, play together, and process trauma.
In the West Bank, we’ve delivered 800 emergency first aid kits and more than 2,600 psychosocial support and learning kits with items such as pencils, paper, backpacks, and water bottles. We continue to coordinate with local partners and peer agencies to assess and respond to children’s needs.
In Lebanon, we have delivered close to 1,000 psychosocial support sessions, reaching more than 7,600 children and families.
We continue to work with partners across the region to assess the evolving needs and adapt our response.
