Mary Khozi
Country Director, Rwanda
Mary has 20 years of experience with a career spanning nursing and the international development sectors. She has experience in strategic planning; development; and management of projects, including mainstreaming social dimensions into development programs (Gender, SGBV, Education; HIV/AIDS; WASH, child safeguarding; Health; Nutrition; food security and rural livelihood strategies). Mary has experience in participatory project development; training and facilitation, organizational and technical support to local organization (CBOs and LNGOs) and government departments.
She brings vast experience in donor liaisons to Right To Play (including with DFID, EU, Irish AID, PEPFAR, USAID, KFW, Comic Relief, NORAID, EU, Global fund; NAC, Aktion Deutschland Hilft, WHO, UNFPA, UNICEF, and CORDAID); and she possesses excellent people management and team working skills, having managed programs with varied cultural racial, education; diversities in both local and international contexts.
Most recently, Mary has been Country Director for Help a Child Malawi, and previously served in the position of Africa Regional Director for One Girl Australia, as well as experience with Handicap International and Save the Children among other organizations. Mary has experience working in Malawi, Uganda, Sierra Leone and Liberia.
Mary holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing - University of Malawi and a Master of Science in Organisational Psychology – UNICAF University. She has four children, two boys and two girls.
