Sport, community, and social commitment: the traditional lake crossing organized by the Right To Play Young Professionals once again brought people together for a good cause this year. For the eighth time, they organized the event in support of Right To Play and the Mwendo Bora School (formerly Almawiya School) in Lamu, Kenya.

On July 10, participants were transported by boat from Küsnacht to Kilchberg. From there, children and adults swam together across Lake Zurich back to Küsnacht, accompanied by four boats and a fantastic atmosphere on the water.

Whether aiming for a personal sporting achievement or swimming at a more leisurely pace, participants pursued different goals but shared the same purpose: supporting children in crisis-affected regions. The focus was not on athletic performance, but on teamwork, solidarity, and the joy of making a positive impact together.

After successfully completing the crossing, participants rounded off the day with a shared paella meal, exchanged stories, and made new connections.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who swam, organized, supported, cheered, or donated. The lake crossing is a powerful example of how much can be achieved through individual initiative and collective engagement—sometimes, change really does begin with a jump into the water.
