Gelson Fernandes is a former Swiss football player of Cape Verdean descent. The defensive midfielder played professional football throughout Europe in his career. Most recently, he played for Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt before taking up the post of vice-president at FC Sion in 2021. Fernandes is the father of two daughters and speaks around seven languages. He has been an athlete ambassador for Right To Play since 2017 and fulfils his role with heart and commitment, for example by bringing projects into life such as ONE SEAT - ONE GOAL.
